The Marin County Sheriff’s Office of northern California has confirmed that Afeni Shakur Davis, mother of late rapper Tupac Shakur, passed away late Monday night.
Emergency calls were placed for a post heart attack at 9:34pm and she was pronounced dead at !0:28pm.

Afeni Shakur was a political activist and member of the black nationalist group Black Panther Party, was influential in her son’s life and career as Tupac showed in his hit “Dear Mama”. Afeni was 69 years old.
