GOVERNOR MCAULIFFE GRANTS RIGHTS OF 206,000 FELONS

Source: CLOVIA LAWRENCE / CLOVIA LAWRENCE

Governor Terry R. McAuliffe has granted the rights of an additional 206,000 felons bringing the total to 224,000 restoration of rights grants to date. As of April 22, 2016, all individuals that have completed incarceration and have been released from supervised probation and parole are eligible for restoration of rights for felony offenses.

I would like to thank the governor’s administration and his Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office for listening to its stakeholders and community about barriers to the process. Also, my deepest gratitude goes to my army Rolling For Freedom-R4F for their tireless efforts to look for persons who were ready to start the process for restoration of rights and getting them registered to vote. We have and will continue to help  individuals get registered to vote in parking lots, malls, parks, concerts, forums, schools, and Justice centers.

The SOC has a new user-friendly look up tool if your rights have been restored. If your name is on the list good. However, if you name has not appeared on the list your rights have still been restored. The office is still uploading names. Click here to register to vote. Your vote is your voice, your right and power.
