After a decade of the feds eyeing deportation, rapper Slick Rick can finally breathe a sigh of relief after finally getting his papers that officially made him a U.S. citizen.
Slick Rick, born Ricky Martin Lloyd Walters in Mitcham, London, England but grew up in the Bronx, N.Y.. As a young child, he was blinded in his right eye due to broken glass and soon after moved with his family to the United States. In 1984, he met Dougie Fresh and became a member of the Get Fresh Crew, later becoming a Grammy winning artist.

Slick Rick has been targeted by the feds ever since he pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder back in 1990, for which he served 5 years in prison. To this day, Slick Rick has maintained that the shooting was in self defense.
