YOU WILL NOT CLOSE OUR SCHOOL

Source: JJ MINOR / JJ MINOR

Armstrong High School is a community school producing some of the greatest graduates. Some alums are speaking out about the potential closure of eight schools in Richmond including Armstrong High School. The announcements are the result of budget cuts. My mother, a 1964 graduate, was disappointed about the news that her alma mater might close. JJ Minor, said during our interview on Radio One Richmond stations, that he has launched not a ‘save our school’ campaign but what he calls a ‘you will not close our school’ campaign. #WildcatLivesMatter  Play audio here…..

Black fact: If you grew up in the city of Richmond during the segregation era blacks could only attend Armstrong High School or Maggie L. Walker High School. They were the two schools for blacks.

Mt. Olivet Church will host the ‘You Will Not Close Our Schools’ town hall gathering on Thursday, April 14, 2016 starting at 6 p.m.
