Terrence J is best known for his hosting duties on E! News alongside Maria Menounos as well as his budding acting career. But it’s his passion for philanthropy and Historically Black Colleges and Universities that makes the proud North Carolina A&T graduate want to support the same educational system that took a chance on him.
He’s partnering with Wells Fargo to continue the conversation about what it means to be African-American in today’s society.
“We’re going to the AUC center tomorrow to host the town hall. We want everybody in the community to come out. It’ all about young people telling their stories. We don’t talk enough We’ve got some really incredible people who are going to be there and it’s all about the students and the young people sharing their stories so we can uplift each other.”
On his untold story:
“My mom had me when she was 17 years old. I went though so many trials and tribulations. By the time I graduated from college I had went to 12 different schools. Joining Omega Psi Phi really tells part of my story. I think it’s important. When people hear about my road to becoming a Mass Communication/Journalism major and how I looked up to you and all the mentoring I’ve had over the years, it really encourages them to go after their dreams. I’m really excited to partner with Wells Fargo with this.”
Why he chose an HBCU:
“I wasn’t a really a strong student in high school. My grades really suffered. By the time I graduated my grades were all over the place. I didn’t know what I wanted to do. By the time I had applied to North Carolina and Duke, I didn’t get accepted. When I applied to NC A&T and went in for my interview, they decided to take a chance on me. I met the right girl who got me involved in SGA…it took those four years to mold me into a man.”
