Today, 500 communities across the country have embraced Let’s Move! The program, led by the National League of Cities and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, works with local elected officials to help each individual community achieve their goals of healthy eating.

So when Cosmopolitan calls the Kardashians “America’s First Family,” it inevitably implies, in my view, that the Kardashians have embarked on some sort of wide-ranging social campaign to uplift Americans.

What have the Kardashians contributed to deserve Cosmopolitan’s sensational designation as “America’s First Family?”

They star in a dysfunctional reality TV show.

They pose in skimpy attire.

They created a clothing line at Sears.

They idolize selfies.

And Kim starred in her own sex tape.

The Kardashians are not my idea of “America’s First Family.” We have a wonderful First Family –including two lovely girls, Sasha and Malia, – who will occupy the White House until the end of 2016.

Cosmopolitan’s Kardashian cover is offensive and dismissive of America’s genuine First Family. The magazine’s editors should admit their grave error in judgment and issue a swift apology to the Obamas – and to the nation.
