Family, friends and many in the music industry are mourning the sudden passing of veteran Brooklyn MC Sean Price, who has passed away at the age of 43.

Price, formerly known as “Ruck,” was well-respected in the hip hop community as an undisputed lyrical mastermind and one half of the group Heltah Skeltah with fellow Brooklyn MC Jamal “Rock” Bush. The duo were members of the NYC rap supergroup Bootcamp Clik, whose history as a classic collective on the hip hop scene is widely revered. Price’s most recent work as a solo artist was the release of his Mic Tyson project in 2013.

Although several unconfirmed reports are stating that Price passed away in his sleep early this morning, an official cause of death and additional details are not yet known. Meanwhile, an outpouring of love and sadness in his memory has already begun on social media.

Our condolences go out to the family and friends of Sean Price as they cope with the news of this tremendous loss.
