On Sunday, the European Central Bank, the lifeline for the troubled Greek banks, announced that it was not going to provide any more emergency support.
The announcement forced Greek banks to close Monday and possibly stay closed for the rest of the week to avoid total chaos in the streets! ATM machines still worked, but there were limits on withdrawals.
The Greece stock market did not open Monday either.
