Bill Clinton thinks it’s time for some of his old policies to get a makeover and that his wife is just the woman for the job.

The former president isn’t giving Hillary any pushback on her vision for The White House. She announced just last month that she was running for president, and she’s already thinking up ways to retool his criminal justice policies.

He’s fully onboard with whatever changes she wants to make because he thinks the old system, which he helped to set up, is no longer working.

“The problem is the way it was written and implemented we have too wide a net. We have too many people in prison,” he told CNN earlier today. “And we wound up spending — putting so many people in prison that there wasn’t enough money left to educate them, train them for new jobs and increase the chances when they came out that they could live productive lives.”

Hillary stated just last week that something is “profoundly wrong” with the criminal justice system as it stands. She envisions one that offers alternative penal measures for less-serious offenders and drug rehab.

While Bill may have set up many of the policies that she now opposes, he told CNN, “I strongly support what she’s doing and I think any policy that was adopted when I was president, any federal law that contributed to it needs to be changed.”
