Bailey Miller is a Texas teen who was paralyzed for 11 days. In that time, it was obvious that she and her nurse developed a close relationship because Bailey planned a surprise for her care-taker–she walked! This viral video is called “Love our nurses!” and we can see why!
Bailey’s nurse yells in glee as she watches her walk and it’s such a beautiful sound. And then she says, “Thank you Lord!” That’s genuine love and devotion to the people she cares for. Bailey’s favorite nurse wins first place! Nurses have thankless jobs. Doctors carry all the glamor of care-taking and nurses do all the work–long hours, patient after patient and it’s beautiful to see Bailey’s nurse give so much joy at seeing her walk.
Becky, Bailey’s mom said Bailey had no feeling or movement in her legs the day before. Doctors did not know what caused Bailey to lose feeling in her legs.
Becky posted on Facebook:
“Our daughter, Bailey, had complete paralysis from the waist down for 11 days with no explanation as to why. This video is one of her favorite nurses coming onto her shift and not knowing that Bailey had started walking this day.”
We’re glad Bailey’s condition has improved and that her nurse restored our faith in humanity today. We needed that.
