The 7th Annual “Parents/Community Listen Up! Teens Are Talking” teen forum is Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Trinity Family Life Center 3601 Dill Road, Richmond, VA. Brought to you by Clovia “Miss Community” Lawrence and Rolling For Freedom, I AM QUEEN, Bucks & Banks, Symphonic Love Foundation, ALB Child Safety Foundation and Radio One INC. This is a free event 12pm-3pm. There will be entertainment and prizes. National Recording Artist Chris Brown’s Symphonic Love Foundation will give away new shoes at the teen forum provided by Reebok.
Teens will speak Up and out on issues of concern to them and not us. We will get their thoughts on police brutality, bullying, self-esteem, education, relationships, peer pressure, sex, drugs, mental health and more. Special guest speakers are Freeway Rick Ross, and teens from area schools. Counselors will be on duty, Richmond City Health and a host of other vendors. #teenva

“Last year’s forum revealed that some area teens find themselves frustrated, defeated and misunderstood in a world governed by adults who may be out of touch with today’s stresses. The media’s depiction of today’s young adult is frequently one of a self-centered, materialistic, disrespectful teen barely concerned with matters that don’t directly benefit them” said Miss Community.
