Today marks a new beginning for the legendary Jet Magazine. The magazine has gone digital and starting today, you can download the Jet app and get all the features you’ve enjoyed reading Jet over the years. Its sister publication, Ebony Magazine, will continue its print edition along with its digital incarnation. But Jet Mag, at least the version that used to sit on your parent’s coffee table, is no more.

“Today is a big download day, “ says Linda Johnson Rice, the Chairman of Johnson Publishing Company, Jet and Ebony’s publisher. “Jet has gone digital today and our opening cover is Miss Keke Palmer. She’s beautiful and smart and now the youngest person to host a talk show. She’s grown up with Jet and we’ve grown up with her. So this is terrific.”

The app is free and there are many special features, including the Civil Rights Museum. And of course, the digital edition includes the most popular Jet feature of all time – the Jet Beauty of The Week – now in 360 degrees.

“The app is very interactive,” says Rice. “We do celebrity style and if you like something that someone is wearing, you can be click on it and it will take you to the site and you can purchase that outfit.”
