September 6, 2014, 1pm-3pm, Grassroots Community, Nottoway/Blackstone, Va.

September 13, 2014, 12pm-3pm, Teen Forum 2014, Trinity Family Life Center, 3601 Dill Road, Richmond, VA. Attendees who will turn 18 by Election Day, November 4 is eligible to register to vote.

September 23, 2014, 11am-7pm, National Voter Registration Day, Virginia Union University, 1500 North Lombardy St, Richmond, VA. Brought to you by the Richmond Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC and Rolling For Freedom.

October 6, 2014, 12pm-2pm, One VIP Party With Tom Joyner, RVA Theatre, Shockoe Bottom, Richmond, VA. Voter registration provided by the Chesterfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC and restoration of rights by Rolling For Freedom.

Virginia has an election every year which means the peoples’ voice should be heard on issues of healthcare, education, civil rights, justice, jobs and medicare. Every aspect of your life is decided on at the “stroke of a vote”.

Register to vote, check your voter status or candidates on the ballot for the general election, by visiting the Department of Elections.

If you were convicted of a non violent felony and would like to start the process of getting your rights restored fill out the online request form here. There is a three year wait period for the those offenses considered violent. If you have completed your prison sentence, off probation, paid all fines and restitution and don’t have any pending felonies then you are eligible to start the process. For more details visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website.
