Here is the latest in the news from the Commonwealth of Virginia:

**On Saturday, January 11, Richmond law enforcement, capitol police and the Secret Service are all a part of the security for the inauguration of Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe . The celebration includes dozens of day of service events around the state. The swearing in will be held at the capitol at 12 noon where 5,000 people are expected to attend including Bill and Hillary Clinton. The governor’s mansion will open to the public for an open house. There will be no charge at the Richmond public parking garages.

**Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is confirming he will remain the lead attorney in a suit filed by U.S. Senator Rand Paul against the Obama Administration. The “Richmond Times-Dispatch” reports Cuccinelli will continue to take on the case against the administration for the data-collection policies of the National Security Agency. Cuccinelli was defeated in November for his bid for Virginia governor, and his attorney general term ends Saturday.

** One of Virginia’s top political donors in 2013 was none other than the co-founder of Napster. The Virginia Public Asscess Project reports Herndon native Sean Parker donated 1.6 million dollars to democrats across the state last year. The Democratic Party of Virginia received three-quarters of a million dollars , while half a million was donated to Terry McAuliffe in his successful run for governor.

** According to the National Weather Service there are wind-chill warnings coming to most of Virginia tonight. NWS says temperatures will feel like as low as 30-degrees below zero in some parts as the chill moves in tonight through Tuesday afternoon. The wind-chill warnings will affect the Alleghany Highlands to the Virginia Piedmont to the southeast, which will include the Roanoke and New River valleys, to areas of the Blue Ridge Mountain.
