The 2013 NFL season rolls on into Week 7 with the AFC West proving to be the strongest division with the two remaining undefeated teams in Denver and Kansas City, and the San Diego Chargers are also on a roll. Interesting weekend for the Broncos, who go into Indianapolis to play in the house their current QB built. Like the Jackson 5, Peyton Manning is going back to Indiana to face his former Colts. While Indy has turned things around with QB Andrew Luck, it’s going to be weird with Indianapolis preparing to honor Manning before the ball game.
The Houston Texans roll into Kansas City with a lot of question marks and riding a four-game losing streak. Not cool against these Chiefs, who seem to improve and gain more confidence with each victory. Several great matchups on Sunday with the Cincinnati Bengals visiting Detroit, the Ravens travel to Pittsburgh where the Steelers finally secured a win, and the Patriots playing the Jets in New York is always entertaining. The weekend starts Thursday in Phoenix as Richmond native Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks have an NFC West date with the Arizona Cardinals.
In Philadelphia, a HUGE game with the division lead at stake for the Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams have questions involving injuries as Philly will decide who they go forward with at QB, Michael Vick or Nick Foles, and the Dallas defense will have to step-it-up in the absence of All Pro pass rusher DeMarcus Ware. Both teams have shown the ability to be explosive on offense, so it may come down to which defense can make stops. The Cowboys and Eagles are tied atop the NFC East at 3 – 3.
In Washington, the Washington Football Team are trying to figure out how to get Robert Griffin III going after a horrible performance in Dallas. Griffin somehow says he saw positives last Sunday, and at 1 – 4, one has to wonder what those positives were. This is certainly not what Washington Football Team fans had in mind when thousands flocked to Richmond in August to see the NFC East champs during training camp. Now, with the offense unable to generate points, the defense giving up almost 30 points per game, and the special teams a disaster, here comes another playoff contender in the Chicago Bears, followed by a trip to Denver.
