RICHMOND, Va. —A storm that’s expected tomorrow shouldn’t be a big deal, but another one this weekend could.
Tomorrow’s storm could produce a small amount of snow or sleet but most likely will create a quarter-inch or so of rain, the National Weather Service said.
“It should basically be a rain event,“ said Eric Seymour, a weather service meteorologist.
That storm should begin about midday and end during the night.
A storm expected to hit here on Friday and Saturday could bring “another good shot of precipitation,“ but it’s too early to say how much and what form it will take, Seymour said.
David Tolleris, a commercial meteorologist in Chesterfield County, said that storm could drop a foot of snow or more in the Richmond area if it stays all snow, or it could produce perhaps 6 to 10 inches of snow with a lot of sleet.
Seymour said he considered a storm that big to have a “low probability of occurrence.“
A storm this past weekend dropped 7 to 14 inches of snow on the Richmond area.
