There are two top contenders in the Virginia governor’s race for 2013 Democrat Terry McAuliffe and Republican Ken Cuccinelli. Cuccinelli is currently the Attorney General for Virginia and will not seek a second term only to run for governor. Terry McAuliffe is a businessman, entreprenuer and former chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
Should Cuccinelli or McAuliffe be concerned of a third party candidate throwing his hat in the ring for governor? Libertarian candidate Robert Sarvis is an entrepreneur and small business owner. Sarvis is trying to draw attention and wants Virginia voters to know that they have another option. Sarvis has a big problem and that is campaign funds. According to the latest financial filings, Sarvis has less than 40-thousand dollars, McAuliffe and Cuccinelli have both raised 20-million dollars.
