In Washington, one must ask, with all of the adoration Robert Griffin III has received from the Washington Football Team Nation and beyond, why is this super talented QB starving for attention?  R G – 3 now has the distinction of being fined $10,000 by the NFL, and he’s not even playing in the preseason games.  The fine was for wearing unauthorized apparel on the field or sidelines prior to Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Now, there’s controversy over a Washington Football Team logo, (a sore subject already) which turns half of the face of the Native Indian forward, with the other half being a depiction of Griffin in a skull cap.

All of this follows Griffin’s dust-up with Coach Mike Shanahan here in Richmond where R G – 3 was orchestrating his own press conferences and questioning the coach’s handling of his rehabilitation.  It’s clear that Griffin is frustrated at not being allowed to get on the field despite his hard work and efforts to get ready.  His goal since being injured last season has been to start on opening day against Philadelphia, and it’s Shanahan’s call as to whether or not R G – 3 is ready.  It’s a call he’d better get RIGHT.

The Washington Football Team host Buffalo on Saturday afternoon in DC, and Shanahan says the starters will only play around 20 plays before his staff starts evaluations on the back-ups and role players.  Buffalo will be without rookie QB E J Manuel on Saturday, while RB Alfred Morris is expected to get some carries for Washington.  No surprise that Philadelphia Coach Chip Kelly chose Michael Vick to lead the Eagles in 2013, and in Cleveland, Brandon Weeden has been named the Browns starter
