Ten former contestants on ‘American Idol’ are suing the show on the claim that producers had looked up their arrest histories to have them thrown off because of their race.

These contestants stated that they were unfairly portrayed as criminals and sexual deviants. However, none of them were ever charged with a crime for which they were arrested.

According to them, only blacks were targeted.

The plaintiffs are Jaered Andrews (Season 2); Terrel and Derrell Brittenum (Season 5); Corey Clark (Season 2); Thomas Daniels (Season 6); Chris Golightly (Season 9); Ju’Not Joyner (Season 8); Jacob John Smalley (Season 2); Akron Watson (Season 6) and Donnie Williams (Season 3).

Each of the former contestants are suing for $25 million and they all want ‘American Idol’ to implement a system that will end this behavior.

Fox and ‘Idol’ producers have declined to comment on the matter.
