Kevin Durant and Monica Wright’s romance is like a real-life Love and Basketball movie!
According to reports, the NBA All-Star proposed to his longtime girlfriend, WNBA star Monica Wright, on the evening of July 6. The soon-to-be Mrs. Durant showed off her large circular diamond engagement ring in a picture obtained by Media Takeout.

The basketball stars have been romantically linked for more than two years. In 2011, the Oklahoma City Thunder player tweeted, “Maybe I need a basketball playing girlfriend…hmm lol…monica wright where r u love and basketball.” (We wonder if it’s a coincidence that Sanaa Lathan’s character was also named Monica Wright, or if this is just a destined love connection!)

In a recent interview with FoxSportsNorth, the Minnesota Lynxx guard gushed about her baller boyfriend, whom she’s known since high school.
“I’ve known him for a long time,” she said. “He’s helped me, coached me. He’s actually a type of player I want to be like.”
She added, “He’s got a heart of gold” and “he’s a really compassionate guy.”
It seems like Kevin and Monica are really in love and we wish them the best in holy matrimony!
