As we get ready to celebrate our nation’s independence with a long weekend, you also have some new movies to celebrate with as well.

Both “The Lone Ranger” and “Despicable Me 2” will be released tomorrow, pitting cowboys against spies in the box office.

“The Lone Ranger”

In the film reboot of the classic Western TV series, Armie Hammer stars as the titular Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp filling the role of faithful Native American partner Tonto. This film explores the origins of these characters as they team up to fight injustice and corruption in the Old West. Brought to you by Jerry Bruckheimer and Gore Verbinski, expect some comparisons to the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise, with an abundance of action and excitement.

“Despicable Me 2”

In this follow-up to the highly enjoyable “Despicable Me,” former villain Gru is hired by a spy organization to take out a villain who is terrorizing the world. This film looks to expand on the charm, slapstick, and overall hilarity of the previous film. And who can resist those adorable Minions?
