If you’re looking for something to do for the July 4th Holiday check out these events.

57th Annual Festival of Arts at Dogwood Dell, Thursday, July 4th Independence Day Celebration with live music, canons and fireworks, kicks off at 5:45, fireworks at dusk, details www.richmondgov.com/parks or 804-646-DELL (3355).

 
Chesterfield County: Celebration is at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds across from L.C. Bird High School, entertainment, activities for children, bring lawn chairs and blankets, limited parking so come early fairgrounds will be closed at 9pm or when parking lot is full, gates open 5pm, fireworks at at dark, free, 804-748-1623.

Goochland Fourth of July Fireworks: Goochland Sports Complex, 1800 Sandy Hook Road,  family fun & fireworks at around 9pm, www.co.goochland.va.us.

“Fourth at the Fort Celebration”, at Williams Stadium on Lee Avenue. The event begins at 8:30 p.m. with concert of popular favorites and patriotic anthems by the Fort Lee Army Band. The fireworks will begins at approximately 9:35 p.m.. Parking and admission to this event is FREE and open to the general public  NOTE:  All Fort Lee visitors 18 years of age or older will need to present a valid state or government-issued picture ID in order to access the installation. Vehicle owners also should be prepared to show proof of insurance and a current registration if requested by installation security personnel.  D

  Colonial Heights’ fireworks display off Charles Dimmock Parkway. Best viewing spots will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area.  Free. 9:15 p.m. (Rain date July 5.) The Goochland Sports Complex has a free  for a night of fireworks and family fun. Bring a picnic, park and watch the fireworks after 9 p.m.

Three nights of fireworks after the Flying Squirrels games on July 4, 5 and 6th at the Diamond.  

 Busch Gardens celebrates summer with IllumiNights.  Through Aug. 11 enjoy a fireworks spectacular starting at 9:30 p.m. Regular park admission applies.

Kings Dominion also has nightly fireworks this season at 9:45 p.m.  Included with regular park admission.  PLUS free admission for active, inactive and retired military on July 4 & 5.

At Colonial Downs celebrate Independence Day with  horse racing, fireworks, live patriotic music from York River Concert Band, a family themed “After Party” with magician Jonathan Austin, Proverbial in concert, free ice cream & more. Gates open at 5 p.m. General admission is  $5.
