The NBA Finals came down to one hour, one game, 60 minutes of professional hoops for the world championship of Basketball.  When it was all said and done, the Miami Heat willed their way to a hard fought 95 – 88 Game 7 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, completing their quest to win back-to-back titles.  The Heat win was the first time in this series that one of the teams won two straight games.

It’s been a highly-competitive series, when the games haven’t been marred with unbelievable calls, or non-calls, but in the NBA, that is a part of the game and is pretty much expected.  MVP LaBron James had an MVP performance in Game 7 with 37 points, 10 rebounds, while Dwayne Wade added 23 for the Heat. Tim Duncan had another monster game for San Antonio in a losing effort, but on this night, it just wasn’t meant to be. The Spurs seemed to lose their composure in the final two minutes.

These were definitely the NBA’s best two teams this season and both rightfully deserved to play for the World Championship.  Duncan has solidified his Hall Of Fame status and LaBron has quieted most of his critics during these 2013 NBA Playoffs.  This is the ninth championship for the man who put this team together, Pat Riley, Miami’s former head coach. This is the second of the 5, 6, or 7 titles James promised upon his arrival from Cleveland.
