Join KISS – FM in wishing a Happy Birthday today to two veteran singers who have thrilled us over the years, including a member of what appears to be a never-ending line of talent from the DeBarge family. The former lead singer of the family’s staple group, El DeBarge turns 53 years old today. Like El, many of the DeBarge brothers, sisters and cousins also enjoyed mild success as recording artists over the years with spin-off groups like Switch. El had recently returned to the music scene a couple of years ago gaining some modest airplay on a hit single “Lay With You”. Happy Birthday El DeBarge! Also celebrating today is R & B singer Al B. Sure. Albert Brown burst onto the music scene in 1988 with one of the biggest selling R & B albums of that era entitled “In Effect Mode”, which went triple platinum, spawning his smash singles “Night & Day” and “Off On Your Own Girl”. Al B. Sure, a former high school football star turned musician, also recorded the Quiet Storm classic “Secret Garden” with the late Barry White, Quincy Jones, and today’s other birthday boy, El DeBarge. Al B. Sure turns 46 years old today, Tuesday, June 4th, 2013.
