The One Million Mentors Campaign is designed to encourage qualified adults to sign up as mentors.  With more than 14 million children in the Unites States in need of mentoring, nationally syndicated Michael Baisden brings his message of support to Richmond and to 72 other cities during the next seven months on his “Save Our Kids Bus Tour.”

Distinguished panelist in the Richmond event include:  Korey Outerbridge, Big Brothers  Big Sisters;  Joel Moody, Gang Reduction and Intervention Program. (G.R.I.P);  Jermaine O’Neal, Richmond Parks and Recreation and Community Facilities;  Dr.  Yvonne Brandon, Superintendent Richmond Public Schools and Dawn Cherry, Manterfly Youth Developement.  Mayor Dwight C. Jones will present Michael Baisden with a proclamation from the City of Richmond and Governor Bob McDonnell will bring greetings on behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Mentoring programs, including Big Brothers Big Sisters, will be available to register qualified adults for matching with area children on waiting list for mentors.
