After an 14 hour of surgey, A’zhari and A’zaiah Jones were successfully separted at Childerns Hospital of Richmond at VCU. The twins are in stable condition in the Neonatual Intenive Unit. Conjoined from the abdomen and heart, Dr. David Lanning said “This the first reported successful, phased- separation surgies of twins sharing vital organs”. This is not the first time VCU separating twins. Back in November 2011, doctors successfully separted 19-month- old Maria and Teresa Tapia.
