Updated 5p.m.: Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis reported during a press conference that there are multiple causalities resulting from two explosions at the Boston Marathon, which occurred at 2:50 p.m. on Boylston Street. The explosions were 50 to 100 yards apart. Davis also reported that there was a third explosion at JFK library. He asking people in Boston to stay home and not to congregate in large crowds.
At least two people are dead and nearly 50 people injured after two explosions wreak havoc at the Boston Marathon. The Associated Press is reporting that two additional devices were dismantled. CNN is reporting that the explosions were caused by bombs.
The explosions occurred near the finish line at the Boston Marathon today. Many people were injured. The explosions occurred about four hours after the race began, according to news reports. Thousands of runners are still running and are being re-routed.
“There are a lot of people down,” said one man, whose bib No. 17528 identified him as Frank Deruyter of North Carolina told ESPN.
