Join KISS – FM & the Quiet Storm as we wish the legendary Al Green a Happy 67th birthday on Saturday, April 13th, 2013. Al Green, the name, the voice, the music, all unforgettable. An Arkansas native, Green started in Grand Rapids, Michigan in a group called The Creations. He later went solo, hooking up with a brother named Willie Mitchell, who was busy in Memphis creating a whole new sound of soul. Al is now Pastor of the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church of Memphis, but will forever be remembered for his classic hits like “Let’s Stay Together” and “Love & Happiness”. Happy Birthday Rev. Al Green!

Also celebrating this weekend is Jazz legend Herbie Hancock, who turns 74 on Friday, April 12th, and Da Brat, born as Shawntae Harris, who became the first ever female rap artist to have a platinum album. Da Brat is 39 on Sunday, April 14th. And Happy Birthday to late night talk host David Letterman, who turns 67 this weekend and is retiring soon from the airwaves.
