It’s a rare treat when two schools so close in proximity get to play for the title of best in all of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The VHSL’s Group AAA State Championship will be a doozy for the local fans here in the Capital City of Richmond, VA as Henrico HS & John Marshall HS, which are locate approximately one mile apart, will collide for the title on Friday evening at the VCU Siegal Center.
The Warriors of Henrico defeated Woodson HS to advance, while Jayem beat Wakefield HS to earn the right to play for the championship. Henrico borders the northern tip of the Richmond city limits on Azalea Avenue, while John Marshall is a virtual stone’s throw away around the corner off of Chamberlayne Ave. Congratulations to the kids at both schools, and to the parents who support them in this great achievement.
