Kudos to breakthrough singer/songwriter Frank Ocean who leads the pack with an astounding six nominations for the upcoming 55th Annual Grammy Awards. After last night’s announcement, it was revealed that Ocean is up for the industry’s highest honor in categories such as Best New Artist, Record of the Year (for “Thinkin’ Bout You”) and even the coveted Album of the Year (for Channel Orange).

Frank Ocean is joined by folk singers Mumford & Sons, rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West as well as the indie pop band FUN. who all scored six nominations in their own respective categories.

Kaleidoscope Dream singer Miguel also continues to hold it down for the R&B genre with his eclectic stylings and sexy singles from the aforementioned album. The 26-year-old singer has had a major year on the music scene with his sophomore project and has garnered five nominations including Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song – for his hit record “Adorn.”  Kaleidoscope Dream has also been nominated for Best Urban Contemporary Album, alongside Ocean’s Channel Orange and Chris Brown‘s Fortune.
