TV One premieres an eight-episode, one-hour series of Save My Sonhosted by Educator, Principal, Author, CNN Education Contributor Dr. Steve Perry. The series will feature several young men and their families dealing with gangs, drugs, truancy and other crimes. The series premieres Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 9 p.m. eastern

Dr. Steve Perry is on a mission to reform black communities and save as many young men as possible. Dr. Perry is founder and principle of Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, CT. The CPMS is designed to send children to college, and since its inception, 100% of its students have gone on to four year colleges. Dr. Perry is also an author of best selling books Man Up! and Push Has Come to Shove, a CNN education contributor, a columnist for ESSENCE magazine, and a highly sought after speaker for colleges and education forums around the country.

Dr. Perry and I discussed how our young men are living without hearing the words “I Love You” in their lives. He shared how men need to get back into their sons lives and mother should stop treating their sons like boyfriends and get their own man. Dr. Perry said if we don’t help our young sons/men they will become endangered species.
