If you know your music history from just about any musical genre, you’re already aware that legendary singer Chaka Khan has put her vocal touch on records spanning from jazz, R&B, funk, soul and even gospel. With next year marking her 40th year in the music business, she’s already gearing up for a graceful step into the next phase of her journey with a reported full-length gospel album in the works.

This week, Khan announced plans for the project which will see her return to her foundation as she proclaims that she is “a living testament to God’s grace and love.” Although there’s no official title of the album, we’re sure this is going to be one to watch as we all fondly remember her collaborations with gospel music icons Richard Smallwood (on “Precious is Your Name”) and Andrae Crouch (on “All Around the World”).
