GENWORTH Financial 29th annual Celebrate Freedom Independence Day Concert:  Tues. July 3, event starts 6:30pm, Patriotic and pop favorites by the U.S. Air Force Heritage band of America begin at 7:30. Fireworks at approximately 8:45p.m.  At Genworth at 6620 W. Broad at I-64. RVA FIREWORKS ON THE JAMES:  Free admission on Tues. July 3, 7:30pm, Brown’s Island. Entertainment by SPARC, Richmond Ballet’s “Minds in Motion”, and the Richmond Youth Symphony Orchestra. ASHLAND FOURTH OF JULY:  11a.m. parade from Henry Clay Elementary on Hanover Avenue to the Hanover Arts & Activities Center at 500 S. Center Street.   With free admission, there you’ll find music, crafts, games and more. http://hanoverarts.org/

PARHAM PARADE AND FESTIVAL:  Weds. July 4.  Parade featuring the 392nd Army Band from Ft. Lee begins at 10a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church at 2315 N. Parham and ends at Parham Road Baptist Church, 2102 N. Parham where there’ll be a ceremony honoring active military and veterans.   Enjoy music by the Henrico Concert Band, family games and more.  Free admission; picnics welcome.  http://parhamparade.com/

FOURTH AT THE FORT:  Ft. Lee celebration on July 4 at Williams Stadium on base features music and children’s activities, from 2p.m. to 10p.m., including a concert with country singer Justin Moore (7p.m).  Fireworks at 9:45p.m.  Admission is free.  Adults will need a photo I.D. for base access.  (755-3176)

OLD-FASHIONED FOURTH:  Meadow Farm/Crump park featuring music, entertainment, arts and crafts, a watermelon feats and tethered hot-air balloon rides.  Free Admission at 3400 Mountain Road in Glen Allen.  (501-5134)

CHESTERFIELD FOURTH CELEBRATION: Gates open at 5 p.m. at the County Fairgrounds at 10300 Courthouse Road.  Enjoy entertainment, children’s activities and fireworks at dark.  Free Admission. (798-1623)

 FIREWORKS AT THE DIAMOND:  The Richmond Flying Squirrels play at home on July 4 and 5 at the Diamond.  Fireworks follow each evening game.  Lots of great vantage points around the Diamond from which to watch if you aren’t going to the game.
