The 2012 Women’s NCAA Championship is on for tonight in Denver, Colorado, where the Lady Bears of Baylor University attempt a historic trifecta. Baylor meets the ladies from Notre Dame in the title game, and with a win, they would complete an unprecedented undefeated season, with a record 40 wins, and collect the National Championship trophy for the icing on the cake.
With Baylor’s perfect 39-0 record, and the National Player of the Year in Brittany Griner, the first thought of a Notre Dame victory would have to qualify as one of the biggest upsets in sports history. The Fighting Irish have a great team, and any other year they would probably be favored. It’s hard to envision Baylor going down, but that’s why they play the games!
