UPDATE: GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney was the big winner in the Super Tuesday primaries in his hometown of Michigan and Arizona. Romney managed to hold off Rick Santorum by four percentage points. Romney won  two delegates in the state of Michigan. And, in Arizona it was winner takes all for delegates.

Romney said “we didn’t win by a lot, but we won by enough”. The GOP primaries will be held next Tuesday in 10 states including Virginia.

The race heats up as GOP Candidates turn their focus on Michigan and Arizona. The primary for these states are held today. Over the weekend, Mitt Romney successfully gained a key endorsement from the Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer. 

Arizona is a Mormon populated state. Mitt Romney’s father was governor of Michigan and so was he. Romney grew up in Michigan. The latest Politico poll shows Rick Santorum with 36%, Mitt Romney with 34%, Newt Gingrich with 13% and Ron Paul with 7% of voter support.

 In an interview with CNN, an appeal from the Freedom’s Defense Fund stated, “No matter who your preferred candidate might be down the road, if you want to stop Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum needs to stop Romney in Michigan.”

Studies have shown that whoever wins the Michigan’s primary will greatly affect the Republican race. Will Rick Santorum be able to win Michigan?
