It was only a matter of time until celebrity royal couple Jay-Z and Beyonce shared photos of their 1-month-old daughter Blue Ivy. If they wanted to, they could have certainly sold the first pics of their bundle of joy to any number of media outlets, following in the footsteps of famous parents before them like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.

Or they could have taken the low-key high road and posted a few family pics on a basic blog, given it a cutesy name like HelloBlueIvyCarter, and launched it into the Webisphere for fans to see.

And that’s exactly what they did, posting 5 pictures of their baby — two solo shots of Blue Ivy, one with Mom, one with Dad, and one of a tiny hand touching Beyonce’s.

Alongside the photos is a note that reads, “We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter Family.”

No glamorous magazine spread, no traipsing a news anchor through their nursery. Already Beyonce and Jay-Z seem like pretty normal parents. Mega-rich ones who happen to have 30 Grammy awards between them and can’t go anywhere without being stalked by the paparazzi, but pretty normal for celebrities.

Just this week Beyoncé, 30, made her first post-baby appearance to celebrate husband Jay-Z’s double concert dates at Carnegie Hall.
