For a man who’s been running for President for 7 years, Mitt Romney has to wonder why he hasn’t closed the deal in the Republican race for the Presidential nomination. Romney has had gaffe after gaffe and just can’t seem to connect with ordinary Americans. More proof on Tuesday after primary results in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri left the GOP race wide open. A huge night for Rick Santorum, who’s campaign was reportedly under financial stress. He won Missouri by an overwhelming margin, then picked up a win in the Minnesota caucases, and wrapped up the night with a win in Colorado as well. Santorum immediately set his sights on the President as well, saying Obama thinks he’s “smarter than all of you”. For Mitt Romney, who thought he had cleared his biggest hurdle in Newt Gingrich, now has a confident Santorum stealing the conservative thunder.
