It’s almost a crime, our very own Justin Verlander pitching, and now, at the plate swinging, Prince Fielder? It’s a baseball manager’s dream come true, albeit, a “pricy” dream. Fielder, who previously swung his big bat for the Brewers will sign a nine-year $214 million contract with the Detroit Tigers. The 27-year-old son of former major league slugger Cecil Fielder, is also an All-Star at first base as well as a power hitter who knocked 38 balls out of the park last season and drove in 120 runs for the Brew Crew. Add those numbers to a team that played for the American League title with a superb pitching staff, and you’re working with something. $25 million per season, that’s a lot of respect.
