President Barack Obama visited his hometown of Chicago to rally supporters for his re-election. He visited two of three fundraisers held Wednesday night. There were two big ticket events held at private homes. Obama attended an intimate fundraiser with attendance of 60 people. Couples paid $35,000 to mix and mingle with the president.
He later, visited a fundraiser with prices starting at $7,500 per person for 100 invited guests.
The Obama campaign contends that top fundraisers are important, but just as important are the website contributions of $50 or less, totaling 81%. And, contributions of $250 or less, totaling 98%.
Here is the latest on the Obama Victory Fund, together the Democratic National Committee and the Obama campaign has raised $156 million through September 2011. The Federal Election Commission just released the Obama campaign fourth quarter fundraising efforts at $68 million.
