GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire first-in-the nation primary on Tuesday. Insiders are calling the win ‘impressive”, he won by 39%. Texas Congressman Ron Paul finished in second place at 23% and former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman finished in third place at 17%.

Romney makes a little history becoming the first non-incumbent to win a caucus and a primary. Now onto South Carolina for the presidential primary on January 21.

FACT: President Barack Obama won the New Hampshire primary by 82% in 2008.

In Virginia news, the GOP primary is Tuesday, March 6. Texas Governor and GOP presidential candidate Ricky Perry has filed a lawsuit against the State of Board of Elections because his name and other candidates were not included on the ballot. The ACLU steps in and supports Perry’s lawsuit siting that the SBE violated the First Amendment rights of Perry and other candidates in the presidential primary when it prohibited them from using out-of-state petition signatures.

The ACLU is asking a federal judge to put the names of Perry and three other GOP candidates on the March 6 ballot. A judge will hear Perry’s case this Friday in Richmond.
