The AllState Sugar Bowl was played last night in New Orleans at the historic Superdome, which has hosted so many big sporting events. Add Tuesday’s game to the Dome’s legend as the Hokies of Virginia Tech and the Michigan Wolverines played a heckuva football game with UM getting the win 23-20 in overtime. Tech was ranked 11th in the BCS while Michigan was 14th coming in. The Hokies end the season at 11-3. The state’s other bowl participant, UVA, beaten on Saturday night in Atlanta in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl by the Auburn Tigers. Virginia finishes at 8-5, a very impressive 1st year for Cavaliers head coach Mike London, the ACC’s Coach Of The Year, and deservedly so.
