NBA star Kris Humphries wishes his marriage to Reality TV star Kim Kardashian never existed.

Humphries filed for legal separation in Los Angeles Wednesday in response to Kardashian filing for divorce in October.

Kris Humphries, 26, is seeking to annul his 72-day marriage, which would make the union voidable in the court of law.

He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for separation and “fraud” as the legal grounds for annulment, a source said.

“He is sensitive to marriage both emotionally and religiously. He entered the marriage in good faith and genuinely loved her and is devastated that it turned out like this,” the source told reporters.

According to documents, Humphries wants a legal separation – not a divorce – if he is denied an annulment.

Under California law, a marriage can be annulled if there is proof of impotency, incest, unsound mind, force or fraud.

The latest legal news marks Humphries’ change of heart since Kardashian, 31, abruptly pulled the plug on their short-lived relationship.

Soon after their split, Humphries said he was “devastated” and was willing to work on their marriage. However, after Kim Kardashian and the couple’s wedding pastor visited Kris Humphries at his family’s home in Minnesota, Kris reportedly agreed to end the relationship.

“He was willing to do whatever it took to save the marriage, but after she said there would be no reconciliation, he’s moving forward,” the source added.
