Actress Regina King has been a prolific actor since her days as “Brenda” on 227, lending her talents to everything from The Boondocks to Friday to Boyz n the Hood, to her current TNT show, Southland.
Now, she’s added a new role to her reel. The thespian has been named the Social Media Ambassador for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In that capacity, she is the online face of the show, which features awards voted on by working actors. She’ll be tweeting and posting to give fans a peek behind the scenes of the show production from now until it airs on TNT and TBS on January 29. King will also announce the nominees on December 14. She’ll also work the red carpet on the night of the event.
Now, let’s see if she’ll be in the next Friday movie with Ice Cube and Chris Tucker.
