Minus a couple of cameos, and a couple of embarrassing arrests, D’Angelo has been laying low for the past, oh, decade or so. But now, he’s announced a small series of shows in Europe next year.

The R&B singer’s last album was the 2000 seminal neo-soul smash Voodoo. He’s been a virtual recluse since then. According to Soul Culture, D will rock at Paris’ Le Zénith on January 29, hit Amsterdam’s Paradiso two nights later and then play London’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 3.

The Roots’ ?uestlove, a long-time D’Angelo friend and collaborator, recently revealed that the elusive crooner’s new album is in the “home stretch,” and that Q-Tip will be featured on the record.
