Where does America really get its inspiration for hit TV shows with cult followings? If you’re a huge fan of the “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” series like we are, you just might be in for a surprise that it’s not too far removed from the truth we experience from day to day.

Actor Danny Pino, one of the stars from the hit TV show which is now in its thirteenth season, recently sat down with Gayle King bringing light to the fact that the scripts aren’t exactly inspired by the writers’ imaginations. In fact, new headlines always ironically have something to do with the process and sometimes hold even more value after similar stories and situations appear on the news afterward.
