Actress Vivica A. Fox is single again – her fiance has called off their engagement.

The Kill Bill star, 47, became engaged to club promoter Omar ‘Slim’ White last Christmas after more than a year of dating, but the couple’s romance recently came to an end – and White claims he was the one who broke off the relationship.

He says, “She’s a good woman, it’s just one of those situations where in life people outgrow each other. I’m highly intelligent, very wise and one thing I hate is negativity and drama; I hate arguing, and I value communication no matter what the problem may be. So, as in any relationship, tension can build up and I finally had to walk away.”

However, White insists the couple’s 19-year age difference had nothing to do with the split.

He says, “I was only in it for love and it just didn’t work out. Even though she was older than me the age difference didn’t play a part.”

Fox, who has been married once before, had been hoping to settle down with White – she previously revealed the couple was trying for a baby.

On the bright side, Vivica just wrapped filming indie baseball drama Home Run, in which she plays a sports agent whose client, a ballplayer with a substance-abuse problem, finds redemption coaching a little league team.

For Fox, the heartfelt story shot on location in Tulsa, Oklahoma, came at the perfect time:

“I’ve had major epiphanies in the last couple of years, to be very honest with you,” she tells the Tulsa News. “I’ve focused on my relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, so I can experience all the blessings that he has for me.”

“I was really excited about doing this movie. It’s Christian-based, and I’m an absolute sports junkie. I grew up playing basketball, volleyball and track, and I was a cheerleader…so this was a good fit.”

Fox will next be seen in the Hallmark Channel original holiday film Annie Clause Is Coming to Town, airing December 10.
