Even the most modest baseball fan would have to admit that this 2011 World Series was one for the books. Talk about high drama? The St. Louis Cardinals had already won 10 world titles, but this will be a special one because of the journey this team took to even get into the playoffs. That didn’t occur until the final day of the regular season when the Atlanta Braves fell apart at the end of the year. Now, the Cardinals are the World Champions of baseball after defeating the Texas Rangers 6-2 in the 7th and deciding game of the series in St. Louis. The agony of defeat has to weigh heavily on the Rangers, who will never get over the fact that they were one out, one measly out, from winning the franchise’s first title. The twists and turns, the ups and downs, and the dramatic comebacks will make great video memories for a long time. Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals, your 2011 World Series Champions…….
