Rapper-Turned-Businessman Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter is stepping up his involvement with the New Jersey Nets basketball team by designing the players’ new uniform.

Jay-Z is a part-owner of the team and this week announced he will stage a series of concerts at the Nets’ new stadium after they move from Newark, New Jersey to Brooklyn, New York next year (2012).

The team will be renamed the Brooklyn Nets following the move and they will be christened with new uniforms designed by Jay Z.

Nets officials have confirmed Jay-Z, who co-founded the Rocawear clothing label, is teaming-up with sportswear company Adidas to create the uniforms with a new logo and team colors, according to the New York Post.
