Rap star Jay Z, also Co-owner of the NBA’s New Jersey Nets announced today the team’s plans to name the team the Brooklyn Nets once their arena is complete and the team officially moves across the Hudson into the Big Apple. Jay Z, who grew up just blocks away from where the new Barclays Center is being constructed, also says he plans hold a huge concert to celebrate the opening of the facility, which is slated for September of 2012. Jay promises a basketball atmosphere that only Brooklyn can provide.
