After establishing himself as the number-one leading man of Black romantic film comedies over the past two decades, Morris Chestnut continues his acting work in diverse, small-screen roles this upcoming television season.

42-year old Chestnut just signed up for a multi-episodic arc on the new FX drama, American Horror Story, reports Shadow and Act.

Chestnut will play the character “Luke” in the series, which stars Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton as a married couple that moves into a haunted Los Angeles home.

Chestnut last appeared as “Ryan Nicholas” for two seasons on the NBC’s sci-fi alien drama V until the series’ cancellation this past May.

American Horror Story premieres on FX October 5.
